What are the uses of medical gauze bandages?
Medical gauze bandages are mainly used to wrap wounds and prevent wound infection. Surgical, orthopedic, lower limb varicose veins, blood circulation to prevent swelling of limbs, and bandaging of swelling diseases after removal of limb fracture plaster. The following will introduce the usage methods of gauze bandages, mainly including
1. Use cotton covers or rolls as padding at the dressing area, and wrap more cotton covers or rolls in areas where pressure needs to be increased or where there are multiple bones.
2. Please wear protective gloves.
3. Before use, open the packaging and place the polymer (orthopedic synthetic) bandage in water at room temperature (68-77 ºF, 20-25 ºC) for 1-2 seconds. Gently squeeze the bandage to remove excess moisture. The curing speed of polymer (orthopedic synthetic) bandages is directly proportional to the soaking time and water temperature of the bandage: if a longer operation is required, please use it directly without soaking
4. Spiral wrap as needed. Overlap 1/2 or 1/3 of the width of the bandage in each circle, wrap tightly but do not apply too much force. The shaping is completed during this time, and the polymer (orthopedic synthetic) bandage needs to solidify and form for 30 seconds before being stationary (ensuring that the shaping surface remains in place); 3-4 layers are sufficient for non load bearing areas, and 4-5 layers of polymer (orthopedic synthetic) bandages can be wrapped around the load bearing areas. When wrapping, the bandages should be smoothed out to provide better support and adhesion between each layer. Gloves can be dipped in water to smooth out the bandages for better results.
5. The curing time for polymer (orthopedic synthetic) bandages is approximately 3-5 minutes (depending on the soaking time and temperature of the bandage). You will feel the support in 20 minutes.
